Liam works across the screen industries and academia. He recently directed voices for Prim, a goth-comedy adventure game, published by Application Systems Heidelberg and available now on Steam. He is currently writing and directing voices for We Stay Behind, a mystery narrative game with the same publisher. In TV he is developing military investigation series High Ground with Born Wild Productions, road trip comedy Danny Boy Patches It Up! with MYGOSH Switzerland, and surrealist historical drama The Order of Toledo with Artemisa Entertainment. He is also in post-production on period queer romantic fantasy short film Water Cure and directing and editing British Academy funded experimental documentary Everyday Journeys. His previous film work includes a feature documentary that premiered at International Documentary Festival Amsterdam, short films that won top prizes at Oscar and BAFTA qualifying festivals, and a student Oscar nomination for The Library of Burned Books with comedian and author Alasdair Beckett-King.
His interdisciplinary research (combining film, cultural geography, GIS mapping, moving and still images) considers spaces and places that are overlooked by screen production, and how exploring such places with a camera can contribute to their ‘place etymology’.
Liam holds a PhD from the University of Kent and an MA from the London Film School. He teaches film form to MSc Science Communication students at Imperial College, British cinema to undergraduates at New York University in London, and occasional practical filmmaking classes at other London universities.
He is a member of the Writers Guild of Great Britain and BECTU.
