Time-lapse Drinking

Here are some of the highlights of the 15th September binge. It’s about 15megs of streaming Quicktime file. Click on the “read the rest of this entry” link to see the video.

Yes, it is safe for work! There’s music, though, so have headphones handy. If you can guess the band and the song name, you won’t get a prize, but you will earn kudos points, which are handy in case you er… make an arse of yourself in my presence or something.

Heeee. Yay. There’s something hypnotic about it. I love our friends!

  2. Eric says:

    Hey Liam and Courtney,

I have no idea about the song title or the band, but it’s reminiscent of The Orb or Sky Cries Mary, probably more The Orb. Remember that Volkswagen commercial from the late ’90s that used “Little Fluffy Clouds”?

Anyway, nice work! The party was fun, too.

I can’t get the video; only the sound. A box comes up that says click here for active X whatever that is. Any ideas of what the problem is. We did get it on John’s computer but midway it stops and crashes.

    Hey
It helps if you download quick time. Finally got to see the whole thing. Very cool. I found myself wishing there was a clock on the wall to see how much time was elapsing.

A clock would be a nice touch, actually! Good thinking.

Heh, not only do I appear to do up my fly, as you say, Lig, I also seemed to spend a great deal of time eating! On the other hand, though, I suspect it’s impossible for anyone to not look cool while playing Guitar Hero!

  6. kelvingreen says:

Can’t see or hear the video, but the Orb mention above suggests that I would know it if I could.

  7. Liam says:

Eric is right about the Orb. The track is “Majestic” from the album “U.F.Orb.”

I haven’t seen the VW commercial from the late 90’s, though. I doubt it aired in the UK.

  8. kelvingreen says:

Still no pictures, but our pc is probably too old to show them. Anyway, it’s definitely The Orb, and it sounds a lot like Back Side Of The Moon, from The Orb’s Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld, which I know you own.

  9. kelvingreen says:

I’m pretty sure Blighty got a VW advert with Little Fluffy Clouds in it; whether it’s the same one Eric’s talking about, I don’t know.

  10. Eric says:

Liam, if I can find the commercial on an old X-Files tape, you’d be welcome to check it out. They (like many other auto makers) did a whole slew of commercials with samples of contemporary music; Volkswagen probably did the best ones, although Mitsubishi had one that made Dirty Vegas famous (I think) before their LP was released in the USA.

  11. James says:

Nevermind VW commercials, you should see the official promo vid for “Little Fluffy Clouds”! Early 90’s video effects and a lot of drugs made sure that this ivdeo was something very odd. A very mind bending experience. The colours were red and purple and orange…

I’ll check out the video when I get back home, Lig. Please make sure the link still works towards the end of next month!

  12. Liam says:

    You mean this video, James?

And I take it you don’t mean this commercial, Eric.

It must be a pretty good commercial if you’re willing to dig it out from an old X-files tape! Yeah, why not?

  13. kelvingreen says:

Ah the “Bollocks” advert. Wonderful stuff.

  14. I’ve got a cd at home somewherecalled Spirits of Nature with little fluffy clouds on it and some other tracks from ads at that time, strangely including the airways one, and I think the one with the kid pearl diving. I may even still have the tape you made me a million years ago with fluffy clouds on it.

  15. James says:

    Ah “Pure Moods”…

Just a shame that it had to descend into “Pure Celtic Moods” and Pure Panpipe Moods”. Makes me think of the Patagonian band from the Fast Show. Funniest sketch was when they began a gentle documentary on dry-stone walls in an anonymous Derbyshire-esque location and then the Patagonian band emerged from behind the wall in question. The narrator wearily sighs, “Oh, surely not…”
